Introduction
The Official Languages Commission was established by the Official Languages Commission Act No. 18 of 1991. The key task of the Commission is to regulate and supervise provisions relating to the language rights contained in Chapter IV of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
